Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 November 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Workplit mobile application for Android and iOS. Workplit is developed and provided by José Manuel Rodríguez Sánchez, a self-employed professional in Spain (commercial brand PpSoft). Full identification details are in the legal notice. By installing or using Workplit you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
2. The service
Workplit is a time-tracking tool to record hours, manage clients, projects, tasks and rates, and generate reports. The app works entirely on your device: it does not require an account and does not store your content on our servers. The optional Desktop access feature starts a temporary web server on your phone, reachable only from devices on the same local network and protected by a random PIN.
3. Licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Workplit on devices you own or control, for your own personal or professional activity, in accordance with these terms and the usage rules of the store you downloaded it from. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or sublicense the app, nor decompile or reverse-engineer it except where the law expressly allows it. Workplit, its name, logo and source code remain our property.
4. Free and Pro plans
Workplit offers a Free plan, with every feature included but limits on the number of clients, projects, tasks and monthly time entries, and an optional paid Pro subscription that removes those limits and adds extra options such as a custom logo on reports. The current limits and features of each plan are shown in the app and on workplit.app. There is no free trial of Pro: the Free plan lets you try the whole app for as long as you want.
5. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Pro is sold as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription exclusively through Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). The price, including applicable taxes, is shown by the store before you confirm the purchase and may vary by country. Payment is charged to your store account, and the store's terms of payment apply. We never receive your card or bank details.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions or App Store → your account → Subscriptions; uninstalling the app does not cancel it. After cancelling, you keep Pro until the end of the period already paid, and then the app switches to the Free plan without deleting any of your data. If you are above the Free limits at that point, your existing records are kept and the Free limits apply to new ones.
If we change the price of Pro, the store will notify you in advance according to its rules, and the new price will apply only from the next renewal. Where the store requires it, you will have to accept the new price for the subscription to continue.
6. Refunds and right of withdrawal
Because payments are processed by Google Play and the App Store, refunds are requested and handled through the store, under its own policies (Google Play refunds · App Store refunds). We cannot issue refunds directly, but if you have a problem you can write to us and we will help you with the process.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you keep all the rights granted to you by consumer protection law, including, where applicable, the right of withdrawal within 14 days of purchase, which you can exercise through the store's refund procedure or by writing to us. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
7. Your data
Everything you record in Workplit (time entries, clients, projects, tasks, rates, reports) belongs to you and is stored only on your device. Since we never receive it, we cannot recover it if it is lost: you are responsible for keeping backups, for example with the app's manual or weekly automatic backup and exporting the file to a safe place. How we handle the limited personal data needed for the subscription is explained in the privacy policy, and how to delete it in data deletion.
8. Acceptable use and your responsibility
You agree to use Workplit lawfully and not to use it to infringe the rights of others or to try to access other people's devices through the Desktop access feature. Workplit is a tool to help you record and report your time; it does not provide legal, tax, labour or accounting advice. You are responsible for checking the data, totals and reports you generate and for how you use them, for example in invoices or any official time record you may be required to keep.
9. Updates and availability
We may update Workplit to fix bugs, improve it or adapt it to new versions of Android and iOS, and some updates may be needed for the app to keep working correctly. While you have an active Pro subscription, we will keep the app in conformity with what was offered, as required by law. If we ever stop offering Workplit, the data on your device will remain yours and exportable, and we will announce it with reasonable notice.
10. Warranty and liability
If you are a consumer, you have the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services provided by applicable law. Beyond that guarantee, Workplit is provided "as is", and we do not guarantee that it will be free of errors or interruptions.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, or loss of data caused by device failure, uninstalling the app or not having a backup. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or in any other case where the law does not allow it to be excluded or limited.
11. Termination
You can stop using Workplit at any time by uninstalling it; remember to cancel any active subscription in the store as well. We may end your licence if you seriously breach these terms. Termination does not affect the rights and obligations already arising, nor your right to keep and export your data.
12. Google and Apple
These terms are an agreement between you and us, not with Google or Apple, who are not responsible for the app, its content or its support. If you downloaded Workplit from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. In case of conflict, these terms prevail to the extent permitted by the store's rules.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the app or in the law. We will publish the new version on this page with its date and, if the changes are significant, we will notify you in the app or on the website before they take effect. If you do not agree with the new terms, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
14. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring any claim before the courts of your place of residence. In other cases, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain.
